According to WHO, the world faces a double burden of malnutrition that includes both undernutrition and overweight. Malnutrition is also characterized by a lack of several essential nutrients in the diet, particularly iron, folic acid, vitamin A and iodine. a national nutrition survey, which was conducted in Pakistan in 2011, states that malnutrition contributes to almost 35% of all under 5 deaths in the country consequently affecting the future health and socio economic development and productive potential of the society. Thus understanding the basic nutritional needs of the people of Pakistan, Aghaaz school has initiated a “ Nutrition Assessment Programme” for the welfare of their student’s mental and physical wellbeing and a bold initiative to prevent malnutrition.
